Choosing the Right Size Wall Art
Finding the right size art for an area can be a bit difficult if you are not an interior designer. You don’t want the art to look too big or too small for the area that it is being put in. So, how exactly do you measure your wall and find the right size for your art? Simple, just follow these few tips and you’ll be on your way to a beautiful piece of art in any room.
First, you always want to work around the furniture of a room. Another general rule of thumb is to have the artwork cover ½ to ¾ of the measured space. One guideline states that the art should actually cover 4/7 of the space. Now, how do we figure out what 4/7 of the space is? Easy, you just need to measure the space and multiply that number by .57 and this will give you how big your art piece should be. For example, if you have a 36-inch space your artwork will be 20-21 inches big with this equation.
If your room has high ceilings and the room is larger itself it can handle a bigger piece of artwork. Following this equation will help you determine the right size art that you should have hung in that particular area. You don’t have to be an interior designer to figure out what size art you need. Just follow the simple math equation and you are good to go!
