Bedroom Gallery Walls
Gallery walls have long been popular but creating your own can feel overwhelming. There are so many options to choose from between the artwork itself, mats (if applicable), frames and the arrangement that it can be difficult to decide where to start. Don’t worry! We’ve got a few ideas to help simplify the process and help you create a relaxing gallery wall for your bedroom.
First, in relaxing spaces (such as bedrooms) it’s important to stick to soft palettes with hints of color that complement the furniture. Bedrooms, typically, look better with gallery walls that aren’t extremely cluttered or busy. Remember, this is where you want to unwind, relax and sleep. Keep things feeling open, calm and spacious by rearranging your gallery in no more than two or three rows.
Second, choose frames that complement both each other (if using a mixture of frames) as well as the artwork inside each frame. When using a mixture of frames with different colors or textures laying them all out on a floor or table can help to make sure they’re arranged in a fashion you prefer.
Third, before hanging your artwork trace each frame onto a piece of paper or cardboard and cut out to create a template. This will allow you to hang the papers on the wall with tape and rearrange until you find a pattern that works for your space. Each space is different so don’t be afraid to play around with different patterns! Pro tip: Take photos of each arrangement so you can look back and compare.
Fourth, if putting multiple permanent holes in your wall is a tad too much commitment consider putting up rows of shelves. This is a great way to be able to change out frame sizes, artwork, and the arrangement frequently without subsequent holes in the wall.
Fifth, once you have the arrangement you like you can move to securing your hardware to the wall. Then simply hang each frame in their designated spot. That’s it! You’re done!
