6 Things You Can Do With Coconut Oil
Here are 6 things you may not know you can do with coconut oil. These tips have been borrowed from Claire Goodall’s E-Book “Everyday Uses For Coconut Oil”
Flaky Scalp Treatment
Wet your hair, and then massage coconut oil over scalp, using just enough to cover the area. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes, and then rinse it out. Follow up with small amount of very mild shampoo to ensure a non-greasy look when finished. Repeat this at least 3 times a week or as needed to prevent dry scalp.
Get Rid of Soap Scum
Apply a thin layer of coconut oil to the soap scum and let it set for 10-20 minutes. Wipe away with the rouge side of a sponge, if the surface allows. For a little extra kick, mist the coconut oil with some vinegar after applying it to boost the acidity. Soap is alkaline and most oils are acidic.
DIY Vapor Rub
Mix peppermint essential oils with coconut oil to make a vapor rub that can apply beneath your nose/on your chest when you’re congested. It’s a simple but effective way to clear out stuffiness and help you sleep better at night.
Dampen your hair well and then message in coconut oil, letting it sit for 2-3 minutes. Starting at the bottom of the hair shaft, gently work your way up with a comb to get through the tangles.
To get rid of these pesky spots, spread a thin layer of coconut oil over the rusty area. Let it sit for 1-2 hours, then run warm water over the oil and wipe clean with a soft cloth.
