It’s a rainy cold day over here and all I want to do is write and read all day. But I still haven’t been able to catch up with my commissions. I need to finish three client illustrations today: a bar, two kids and a home. It should take most of my day so I need to savor every word of this post, my only writing block of the day. I love rainy days to get cozy and stay in but I will have to venture out at some point to drop off some orders at the post office.
Yesterday I listened to Mimi and Alex Ikonn new podcast, loved both of the episodes available. I identify so much with them and it’s so nice to be reminded that there are people in the world whom I would like to be around. In one episode they talked about business and something Mimi said got me thinking. When your business is a service instead of a product, you never get to take a day off, unless you are not practicing your service. For example, if you are a dentist, but what you have is a dentist office with other dentists and you don’t actually work as a dentist, but solely as an entrepreneur than you could take time off. But like most people, if you are in the service business you are the technician too, like me. Because I am the business, if I don’t work, I don’t get paid. And for a while now, I have been thinking more and more about having a passive income or a product, that could help me bring in more money and free up some of my day to day client work. I am taking the next steps to get this going, more on this later.
Thanks for reading.
