As I mentioned before I’m planning on running a half marathon in November. My current plan has me running 5 miles in March, which I did this week, twice. That is the furthest that I have ever ran in my life. It was hard but not as hard as I thought it was going to be. I had to definitely push myself but I knew it was possible. Now, 13.1 miles, seems impossible right now. Now that I’m extending my runs I’m gonna need to start reading about stretching, refueling, hydration, proper gear, and all that stuff. I’m still very new at running long distance but I want to make sure I do it right since the beginning to avoid any injures. My body is pretty sore but doing yoga in the morning has pretty much saved my legs. After a 20 minutes yoga session I can again move my body like normal. I’m also eating pretty healthy, with only one day a week where I’m allowed to eat junk food. I think eating the right foods will help me train better. I hope I keep up with my runs and this plan, I really don’t want to give up. I felt so amazing when I completed 5 miles. Knowing I can do this has boosted my confidence and self esteem so much.
